Since we experienced flood in year 2010 - our new bookshelves, lots of books , sofa, TV stand , newly-painted wall and all stuffs in the living room got destroyed, I got discouraged of decorating the house.
For this new year, I wanna give life back to our house by decorations- simple decorations that can easily be carried upstairs whenever there's flood threat.
Let's start with our small living room because it's the focal point of every home. It is the room where the family spends most of its time and where guests are welcomed. One of the best ways to enhance the look of living room is to display artwork on its walls in a proper and visually-appealing manner. On this case,I want to hang on postcards I've collected around the world. I will frame them in elaborate or minimalistic frames. I consider custom framing ( gleaned the idea from custom framing nyc) than buying a basic frame in a store because on custom framing every photo will be designed and framed with the utmost quality and care. The decision to work with a professional framer and create a custom framing solution will allow me to focus on the aspects that are most important to me while still considering preservation of my art or print. I can choose wide options of materials such as matting and glass choices based on what type of display I'm hoping to achieve. I'm not afraid to experiment when it comes to framing. I'll either go for retro frames with modern graphics, bright colors with black and white photography or futuristic sleek frames with traditional paintings.
It’s easy to become very messy if things don’t have a place so I'm adding small filing cabinet in the corner of the living room. It’s a great place to store all the papers that I don’t know what to do with!
Furniture? We won't need too much furniture. It will only make the living room seem crowded. What I need is only MT2 Sofa by Ron Arad. It will stand flood!
In decoration, I always think about order and organization. Because we always have lots of stuff to bring home every day, we need a coat hook to hang our coats, bags, umbrellas, etc and a landing strip- this is a flat surface where we can lay down our wallet, keys, and sort the mail. I must buy a basket near the landing strip to immediately recycle junk mail.

Can't wait to start decorating. Decorations make any house a home
I am participating in a blogger campaign by Bucks2Blog for custom framing nyc and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.
