What’s your kids’ learning style? Is he a visual learner, an auditory learner or a kinesthetic learner?
Imagine you’re reading aloud from a book with the repeated refrain “and the rabbit went hop, hop, hop.” Does your child:
- Come up close, perhaps insisting on being your lap, to see the pictures? This is a sign of visual learner.
- Mimic the words of the refrain or interrupt to talk about the story? This is a sign of an auditory learner.
- Move around and do what the refrain says- hop, hop, hop? This is a sign of a kinesthetic learner.
My Hyzyd really loves reading. Reading is what can keep him away from Ipad. Last night we read about the Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton. First he sat on my lap and we’re having fun pointing on the pictures and narrating him what each animal did. Every now and then he interrupted me with questions like “What’s the horse doing, mom?” or sometimes mimicking my answer ” oh twirling “. On the second round of reading, he got up , did the action words and invited me to do the action words with him! It’s very tiring with all our twirling, prancing, dancing and strutting. We sure did have fun and end up sleeping so deeply and so peacefully. So, can you tell me what’s my Hyzyd’s learning style?
