Hyzyd , my little chatterbox

At 3 years and 2 months, Hyzyd is now our little chatterbox! It's incredible how sophisticated his command of the language has become. Just few months ago, it's hard to decipher what he wants. Thanks to his improved diction and amazing grasp of grammar, I am able to understand more than three-fourths of what he's saying now. He uses longer sentences (three or more words) and a growing vocabulary (300 to 1,000 words — too many for me to count! ) to make himself understood.

What's interesting now since he attended preschool last November 2010, he's also learning some Thai words:

  • Numbers 1-10 - nueng, song, saam, sii, haa, hok, jet, phet, kaaw, sip
  • Some Thai alphabet
  • May Day- means "can not"
  • May chay- means "it's not"
  • May sabay- means "not feeling well"
  • pay- means "go"
  • chuay duay- means "help"
  • Sawadee Khrap- means "hello"
-------------------------------------------------------------

I usually pick up Hyzyd in his room around 4:30 PM and most of his classmates who's with him and are also waiting for someone to pick them up are girls, this is how Hyzyd bid good bye to them:

Hyzyd (waving goodbye to his classmates) : Goodbye, girl friends!

Hmmmm..I wonder who teach him the word " girl friends "...LOL!

----------------------------------------------------------

While Hyzyd and I are eating our snacks in the cafeteria, a little boy (my K-1 student who happens to have big and bright eyes) called Hyzyd.

Hyzyd (turning to me): Mommy, what happens to the eyes?
Me (amused and bewildered) : Why? His eyes are OK. They're big, bright and beautiful like yours, see?
Hyzyd ( drawing close to me and giving me a scared tone) : Oh mommy, I'm afraid of the big eyes!

Who gave him the idea of getting afraid with big eyes? I always explained to him that big eyes are beautiful. LOL!
