Medical facilities in the Philippines are adequate in major cities but are very limited in small cities and especially in provinces. This is the reason why our American friends who used to visit us before brought adequate supplies of all their medications in their original containers, clearly labeled. They carried a signed, dated letter from the primary physician describing all medical conditions and listing all medications, including generic names. All their medications were packed in hand luggage and carried a duplicate supply in the checked luggage. They also brought extra contact lenses. Some of them wore medical alert bracelet maybe because of some significant allergies or chronic medical problems.
I just wish that few years from now, medical facilities will be adequate not only in major cities but also in small cities like ours.
