For those who don’t know yet, hubby and I are both ESL (English as a Second Language) Teachers here in Thailand. As ESL teachers, we work with ELLs (English language Learners) to help them acquire fluency in English, both spoken and written and we have special training in this field. My hubby teaches high school at a government school in Songkhla while I teach preschool at a private school here in Hatyai City.
Our hands are full on school days. We wake up early because my hubby travels for an hour before he reaches his school by motorbike. He needs to drop our toddler to his nanny and me to my school first before he proceeds to school. I’m the one who always checks on him if he arrived already, if he ate his lunch, if he’s already on his way to fetch me. If I couldn’t call, it’s my hubby who’ll call and asked me on lunch time if I’ve eaten or how’s my class or he’ll call me if he’s already outside the school’s gate waiting for me. On the other hand, while waiting for my hubby to fetch me, I blog or else prepare flash cards. He usually arrived at 5:00 pm. Before we’ll fetch our toddler, we ate sushi first or noodles . We talked while eating-talk about our class, our our family , our finances and just about anything.
When we arrived home, my hubby’s stress reliever is playing Sudden Attack- a shooter game online for an hour while I take a nap for 5 minutes while I let Hyzyd watched his favorite cartoons-Spongebob or else Mickey Mouse. After taking a rest, I prepare our dinner.
Before we watched movie, we first read the Bible and share our thoughts and prayer request. During this time, we could share our struggles with our students and our family needs and lift them up in prayer. I pray for my hubby while he prayed for me for protection and wisdom. In communication, we’re very open to each other – our family concerns, about our friends, about personal hygiene, about what we don’t like and about our dreams and plans. I believe families who pray with each other stay together because there is unity happening. God is being glorified and recognized. Not only is there a bonding time with your family, but I believe a Spiritual covering as well.
It can’t be denied that our careers and work schedules keeps us busy especially on weekdays. We use our time in between “fetching” our toddler to have quiet time together while eating our snacks and while travelling, I just wrap my hands around him and lean on him silently while he holds my hands. Before sleeping or on weekends, we talk to each other. I’m the one who usually find fun things to do as a couple like tickling, joking around and do my crazy dance to make hubby laugh.

wow, gusto kong magjoin kaya lang kulang ang time. kamusta na?
Wohooo! may crazy dance ka? I wonder what that is, ahahaha! hay naku, ang busy nga ng life nyo ah, but, with your love and open communication, it seems to work for both of you, with a toddler in between. Nasa nagdadala naman yan di ba Marce? Minsan kasi kapag nag busy na sa kanya kanyang work ang mag asawa, nawawala na ang time para sa isa't isa, nagkakaroon ng gap and it leads to separation, kasi di nakakapag usap at di nakakapag open up sa isa't isa. I always make sure I talk to my husband if I think something is bothering him, kasi baka sa iba makipag usap at mag open ng problema di ba? Hay..ang marriage talaga di madali, it takes a lot of work from both parties. Next week ang topic natin ay "We're the best of Friends"
hi there mare… how are you??? aww… I've been really busy… ang saya naman ng family nyo… How I wish we can also pray together… iba talaga pag hindi pareho ng religion… I believe your marriage will be much stronger in God's grace.
